WHAT IS JOY?

Further defined, JOY is a powerful and positive emotion that brings immense happiness, delight, and contentment. It is a state of being that transcends momentary happiness and is characterized by a deep sense of inner fulfillment and satisfaction. Joy is not dependent on external circumstances or material possessions, but rather it emanates from within and can be cultivated through intentional actions and mindset shifts.

Practicing gratitude is a powerful way to shift our focus from what is lacking in our lives to what we already have. What we focus on expands, and by focusing on all the wonder in our lives currently will definitely begin to create more and more of the same.  Take time each day to reflect on and appreciate the blessings, big or small, in your life. It could be as simple as a beautiful sunset, a kind word from a friend, your backyard, your house, the sun coming through the window as you sip on your morning coffee, etc. 

Gratitude helps us shift our perspective and cultivates a sense of joy in the present moment or the NOW.    Being in the present moment or NOW, as Mr. Steve refers to it, is the thread that runs through every aspect of your being and how to understand and improve upon specific areas you want to better express and improve upon.

MINDFULNESS

Living fully present in each moment without judgment or distraction allows us to experience the joy of being alive.  Being in the NOW is very powerful indeed.   Engage in activities with full attention, whether it’s spending time with loved ones, savoring a meal, or enjoying a hobby or having fun in activities. Mindfulness helps us to appreciate the richness of life and brings joy to our experiences.  This provides increased clarity and vision.

KINDNESS

  Acts of kindness not only bring joy to others but also create a ripple effect of joy within ourselves in our soul and spirit.   Joy is contagious!   Engage in random acts of kindness, whether it’s helping a stranger, volunteering, or expressing appreciation to someone. Kindness nurtures our capacity for joy and enhances our sense of interconnectedness with others which can be very compelling in really being in the NOW and feeling more ALIVE!

SELF CARE

Taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional well-being is crucial for cultivating JOY.  The balancing act between spiritual, mental and physical is very important in becoming more joyful each and every day.  Prioritize self-care by getting enough sleep, eating nourishing food, engaging in regular exercise, and managing your stress levels.  When we take care of ourselves, we are better equipped to experience joy in our lives.   One leads to the other with ease and grace.

HOW TO SUSTAIN BEING JOYFUL DAILY?

To sustain more consistent joy in our lives, it is important to develop a positive mindset and cultivate healthy coping strategies. Mr. Steve offers some suggestions here that are quite common as affirmations to sustain JOY in one’s life:

Be sure to have 4-5 affirmations (either from the list below or ones you create on your own) that you feel you identify with more and can say with a strong belief in the words, and say them out loud at least 2-3 times a day for a more powerful impact.
