Gratitude is one of many positive emotions,

it is about focusing of what is good in our lives

Gratitude is an emotion that has been widely studied in the field of positive psychology. It is the feeling of appreciation and thankfulness towards people, situations, or things. When we experience gratitude, we acknowledge the good things in our lives and focus on what we have rather than what we lack. Gratitude has numerous benefits, including increased happiness, improved relationships, enhanced well-being, and better physical health.

Having gratitude, states Mr. Steve, is the foundation that one can build upon to work and grow in such areas as self-esteem, self-confidence, joy, happiness, success and positivity in taking action to make one=s life work better and with love and joy.

While gratitude is a natural emotion, it is also a skill that can be cultivated through intentional practice. The following are some practical actions one can take in becoming more grateful in one=s daily lives:

One way to cultivate gratitude into your daily life more is to focus on the present moment and become mindful of the good things that are happening around you.  This could be as simple as enjoying a morning cup of coffee or appreciating your garden as take your daily walk.

Keep a Gratitude Journal

Mr. Steve recommends a very reliable way to cultivate gratitude is by keeping a gratitude journal. A gratitude journal is a notebook where you write down the things you are grateful for every day. You may not be a Ajournaling type of person@, but even writing down just words or events or people can be useful.  

If you want a more formal daily routine, then writing down five things you are thankful for each day before going to bed. These items can be repeated over a series of nights, even as you alternate with new ones.  Research has shown that people who keep a gratitude journal for as little as one month experience significant improvements in well-being and happiness.

Mindfulness

Sustaining gratitude on a daily basis can be challenging with all the non-stop input we all encounter from so many sources.  However, with practice and dedication, it is possible to maintain a sense of gratitude over the long term. The following are some strategies Mr. Steve and other in this field recommend for sustaining gratitude on a daily basis:

Make it a Habit

Cultivating gratitude is like any other habit. It takes time and practice to develop. To make it a habit, try to incorporate gratitude into your daily routine. This could be as simple as taking a few minutes each day to reflect on what you are grateful for or expressing gratitude to someone in your life.   The more you recognize gratefulness in your day to day lives, the more it becomes second nature to you.

Surround Yourself with Positive Influences

A very practical and rewarding way to more sustain feelings of gratefulness.  is to surround yourself with positive influences. Forgiveness
